Parchment Craft Techniques.
Parchment craft is used to make intricate designs out of paper. Some common parchment craft projects are customized greeting cards, picture frames, gift tags, bookmarks and invitations. Parchment paper can be purchased with a pattern already printed on it or traced from another drawing. Tracing
Tracing is necessary to create the lines that will become the boundaries of your parchment craft project
. Place the pattern under the piece of parchment paper. Use a mapping pen and tinta ink to trace along the lines of your pattern. To make the lines for folding a card, trace along the pattern with a white pencil.
Perforation
Perforating the parchment allows you to make a border around your piece. You can also use the perforations as guidelines to cut out small sections of the parchment and create a lace-like effect. Place the parchment face up on a perforating mat and use a perforating tool to poke a series of small holes in the front of the paper. If you are perforating a line that is next to an embossed section of parchment, you will have to make two passes with the perforating tool.
Cutting
Once the perforation is done, you can cut out pieces of parchment to add open spaces in your design. Specialized cutting tools, like the cross knife, perga cutter or pointed scissors, should be used to give you the precision needed to cut out small areas. Make sure the perforations are done cleanly according to the line of your pattern and that the lighting in your work area is bright enough for you to see the outline of where you need to cut. Snip the connecting areas between each perforation and carefully pull out the pieces of parchment as you cut.
Embossing
Embossing creates a raised surface on one side of the parchment. Embossing tools are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to give you precise control over the area that is raised. Trace the lines of your pattern onto the parchment first; then place it upside down on top of a specially designed embossing pad. Press down inside your traced lines in the areas you wish to emboss.
Stippling
Stippling is also done on the underside of the parchment. First, the parchment should be lightly embossed; then you can use the one-needle tool to make several small holes. For best results, spread the holes out evenly and keep them close together inside the embossed area.

Things You'll Need:
Parchment paper, cut to desired size-vellum works also
Colored card or card stock
Embossing tool
Dense foam pad
Adhesive for parchment or vellum
Sharp colored pencil to match colored card or card stock
Pattern you want embossed
Step 1
Place the parchment over the pattern and trace the pattern onto the parchment paper with the sharp colored pencil. It's important to keep the pencil sharp so that you both keep the image clean and make it easier to trace. You may also need to use a fair amount of pressure to keep an even amount of colored pencil to have uniformed lines.
Step 2
When the entire image has been traced, place the parchment onto the foam pad. Using the ball of the embossing tool, gently apply pressure into an area of the image to be embossed. Then, turn the parchment over to see if you need more or less pressure to create the desired look.
Step 3
Continue using the same pressure to emboss the rest of the pattern. The embossed pattern will have a creamy white color. Double-check the entire area once it has been embossed. Finish off any extra areas that need to have a bit more done to them.
Step 4
Turn the parchment over so that the embossed side is up. Apply the parchment to the desired area with the adhesive. Make sure that the adhesive will be nearly if not completely invisible. This way, the adhesive will not take away from the embossed parchment image.
Step 5
Once the embossed parchment has been applied, finish decorating your card. Or, leave it as is, with the soft creamy embossed image of the parchment.

Well! where do I start,
I'm a beginner at parchment it's not a craft that can be hurried as I'm sure you'll all agree, passion, patience and time is required as well as a healthy bank balance ha ha!
While on my own journey, learning the art of parchment I'd like to share it with others a piece at a time so here goes hope you enjoy the blog.
